Ukrainian actor with a confession about Zelensky. What he said about the president

The popular Ukrainian actor Egor Krutogolov has been experiencing the first-person war near the capital Kyiv for almost a month now. Asen Manasiev talks about the strength of a nation that is fighting for its freedom and what it is like to share a scene with Vladimir Zelenski.

20 days after the start of the war in Ukraine, the life of a man who made millions laugh in his country now looks very different. However, he does not lose his hope and sense of humor. He is Egor Krutogolov – one of the most popular comedians in Ukraine. He played alongside Volodymyr Zelensky, today he is on the front line and helps as much as he can for the freedom of his Ukraine.

“I am currently very close to Kyiv. I can’t tell you exactly where, because we’re still at war. Rockets are constantly flying around us, bombs are falling – we hear them every day. “Unfortunately, we are starting to get used to this way of life,” Krutogolov told Nova.

“We are no longer running after every explosion, we are not hiding in the dungeons. We have even learned to recognize the sound of missiles fired by our army from those of missiles flying at us. Everything happens very quickly and it is difficult for us to react in time. By the time you hear the plane, you only have 2 seconds. “Only a few days ago, a rocket crashed 800 meters from us – it was the strongest explosion I’ve ever heard,” he said, adding that in recent days, “the aggression with which the Russian army is attacking is increasing.”

“Their blows are becoming more frequent,” says the actor, “but we hear and see the efforts of our army to repel them. We pray for our boys every day. God, these people are saving our lives at their own expense. Before February 24, no one imagined that we had such a strong and motivated army. I thought that in a day or two the Russian tanks would be in front of our homes and that would be the end of it. ”

It is the strength and courage of the Ukrainian army that unites an entire nation, Krutogolov said. “I don’t know if one can get used to the war, even after more than 20 days. But when you see that your army is guarding you, you somehow feel at least a little safe. “

In recent days, I’ve been thinking a lot about the Bruce Willis movie The Fifth Element. At the end of the film, he collects the five elements and wins. The same thing happened to us, we gathered the five elements – our unity, our language, our courage, our determination and our president. When all this is united in one, then an invincible force is born “, the actor shares.

Egor is one of the people who knows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky best. The two met on stage a decade ago on the comedy television show KVN in Moscow. They also play together in Ukraine.

He and his team made their own show – “Quarter 95”. It was a great show, in which we spent two years together “, Krutogolov remembers.

“After that, our paths parted. It can be said that we became competitors – there was constant competition between us. We stopped talking. But! The moment this horror began, I was one of the first people to say – I fully support my president! Because he did not escape when the war began. He did not hide. He did not abandon me, my children, my family. He did not hand us over to the occupiers. I will never forget that! It doesn’t matter that we used to be competitors and that we had our misunderstandings. He has my full support, because he is a man of honor “, says Krutogolov.

In recent days, Egor and his comedy troupe have also contributed. Although they do not take an active part in the protection groups, their task is no less important at this difficult time.

“Our troupe also joined the support groups. Our driver drives the soldiers’ supplies every day, we knit camouflage nets. Each of us is trying to help as much as we can “, says the actor and shares that he is ready to join his compatriots on the battlefield.

The war never managed to take the smile off the actor’s face and today he has only one dream. “As Martin Luther King said, ‘I have a dream!’ The day will come when we will travel around our peaceful country again. We will embrace our brothers and sisters in Donetsk and Luhansk. We will swim freely in the waters around Crimea. We will rebuild our homeland, although the Russian beast has bitten off many pieces of our land. And the whole world will help us to do it, as it is now “, shares Egor Krutogolov.
