Ukraine: Zelensky announced retaliation for the bombing in Dnipro – 2024-04-05 04:40:26

At least 18 people, including children, were injured in a Russian bombardment in the city of Dnipro (central-southern Ukraine), regional governor Serhiy Lysak announced via Telegram, clarifying that of the 12 people who were taken to hospitals, “five are children” and adding that no their lives are threatened.

According to emergency services, a company, a kindergarten and a higher education structure were “destroyed” in yesterday’s strike, while the fire was “extinguished” by firefighters.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in his evening speech that there will be retribution. “The retaliation will be bigger and bigger every time,” he threatened. At the same time, he once again demanded from Kiev’s allies in the West more anti-aircraft defense systems to “save thousands of lives”.

Ukraine has stepped up strikes on Russian territory in recent months in retaliation for shelling it has suffered since the Russia invaded its territory more than two years ago. Russia also says it will retaliate against Ukrainian attacks and has recently carried out massive bombings of power plants and Ukraine’s electricity transmission network.
