The non-binding bilateral agreement is just propaganda.
“The government seems to live in a different world from what I see and read in the newspapers. Here we talk about the reconstruction of Ukraine as if we were on the eve of the reconquest of the occupied territories and the Russian retreat. But unfortunately the reality is very different: not only has the reconquest counter-offensive failed and now the Ukrainian military strategy is purely defensive, but the Russians have just won decisive battles and are advancing.”
This was declared by the vice-president of the 5 Star Movement and group leader in the Foreign Affairs commission, Riccardo Ricciardi, speaking during Minister Tajani’s briefing on the Italy-Ukraine bilateral agreement, underlining that “a non-legally binding agreement is just propaganda”.
“The government – added Ricciardi – continues with this rhetoric of the war in Ukraine as a battle against absolute evil to defend our freedom: if we really think this, then we should be coherent and all leave together to go and fight on the Ukrainian front, instead to continue to let the Ukrainians fight this war, who among other things are increasingly fewer in number compared to the numerical superiority of the Russians”.
