“The situation is very serious, we lose 60-100 soldiers a day and about 500 are wounded in battle. We maintain our line of defense,” Zelensky said.

The most difficult situation is in the east of Ukraine, adds the president.

If you take the lowest number indicated by Zelensk 60, then in 97 days of war in Ukraine there must have fallen as a minimum of 5,800 soldiers.

Ukraine does not publish data on its casualties during the war. For the only time on March 12, Zelensky revealed that 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers had died in the first 16 days of the war.

On May 28, Ukrainian Minister of Sports and Youth Vadim Gutcaits announced that more than 50 athletes had died in the war, UNIAN reported.

Russia to date, more than 30,500 troops have been killed, according to Ukraine. The British Ministry of Defense, on the other hand, recently estimated that Russia had lost a similar number of troops to Ukraine as during the USSR-Afghan war. It is estimated that about 15,000 Soviet soldiers were killed in Afghanistan in less than 10 years.

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine with rocket fire, airstrikes and ground forces began in the early hours of 24 February. Russia initially mentioned one of the aims of the invasion Ukraine “denacification”.

The occupiers of Ukraine have suffered heavy losses and are accused of deliberately killing civilians and other war crimes. The occupiers’ atrocities began to come to light en masse after the Ukrainians expelled them from the vicinity of Kiev, such as Bucha.

Russia’s treatment of Ukrainians, including the killing and establishment of filtration camps, describes this “manifesto of fascism”published by the Kremlin’s RIA Novosti propaganda news agency.

In general, the war in Ukraine has been going on since 2014, when Russia occupied Crimea peninsula and launched a war in eastern Ukraine.
