Pensions in Ukraine have been increased for some citizens
Some pensioners will receive benefits from the World Food Programme. The amount of the additional payment depends on the size of the pension of a particular Ukrainian. The Ministry of Social Policy reported that they will continue to pay benefits in 2024 and named the category of pensioners.
As the publication writes “Retired”, During a meeting of the working group of the Humanitarian Reform and International Development Project for Ukraine (PeReHID), it was announced that additional payments to pensioners from WFP are planned for 2024.
Pensioners received payments from WFP:
- living in areas of combat operations or near front-line territories;
- whose pension does not exceed 3,250 hryvnia, but initially this amount was 3,000 hryvnia;
- such persons have not previously received any payments from the UN and other international organizations and do not receive payments to internally displaced persons.
The amount of the supplement depends on the size of the pension. If a pensioner receives 2,400, then he is paid an additional 850 hryvnia; if the pension is 3,000 hryvnia, then the additional payment from the UN is 250 hryvnia. To receive such a bonus, you did not need to write an application and contact the Pension Fund; this was done automatically. The additional payment was credited to the pensioner’s card along with the pension.
It is still unknown how the additional payment from the UN will occur until retirement in 2024. It is currently known that such additional payments can be established for pensioners with disabilities.
As OBOZ.UA previously wrote, the pension amount was also increased from January 1. This applies to those whose payments are tied to the minimum wage or subsistence level.
