It is noted that the heads of the foreign affairs agencies agreed on further steps of Ukraine and the United States, in particular, taking into account the following diplomatic contacts with the Russian Federation in the format of the NATO-Russia Council and the OSCE Permanent Council.
In addition, Kuleba and Blinken discussed the further implementation of a comprehensive package of deterring Russia from further aggression, in particular, tough economic sanctions against the Russian Federation and the practical strengthening of the defense capability of the Armed Forces.
The US Secretary of State reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The parties noted their mutual adherence to the diplomatic principle “no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine.”
“Thanks to active diplomatic work, Ukraine has strong international support. There is a growing understanding among our partners that the Euro-Atlantic space will be safe only when Ukraine is safe. Together we are actively pursuing this security formula. The talks in Geneva proved that our strength lies in the unity and consistency of positions against the background of Russian ultimatums, ”said Dmitry Kuleba.
Recall that the first round ended in Geneva negotiations between the United States and Russia, the theme of which was the issues of security in Europe.
