“Bucharest, Warsaw and Ankara founded this trilateral format in 2012 at the Alliance summit in Chicago. Today, for the first time, they invited guests – Ukraine and Georgia – to take part in their meeting. And this is not just an invitation. It is a political signal and concrete action to support Ukraine at a difficult moment, “said Kuleba.
The Minister stressed that Ukraine is a key partner of NATO in the Black Sea region together with Georgia, and is an integral part of the formula for its security and prosperity.
He will meet with colleagues from 4 countries – David Zalkaliani, Bogdan Aurescu, Zbigniew Rau and Mevlut Cavusoglu. According to Kuleba, all four ministers are his friends amid security threats posed by Russia’s aggressive behavior and its growing militarization of Crimea, the Black and Azov Seas.
“It will be about strengthening the presence and readiness of NATO to strengthen security and stability in the region, and about the Euro-Atlantic prospects of Ukraine and Georgia, and about the format of the Crimean Platform initiated by Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
Also, in a bilateral format, the Ukrainian minister will meet with colleagues on politics and trade in relations between the countries.
“Russian waves are rolling in, and we continue to do our job so that they recede,” Kuleba added.
