UK sharpens ingenuity to attract young people

A marketing campaign supported by companies like Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo and Pizza Pilgrims aims to boost vaccination among young British people. The initiative has been promoted by the UK Department of Health and Welfare and offers discounts and even free slices of pizza to persuade young people to get vaccinated.

The program, announced by the Department of Health and Social Care, is designed to increase the rate of vaccination among adults under 30, as the UK rushes to inoculate as many people as possible before the autumn.

The vaccination rate among people between the ages of 18 and 30 is approximately 60%

Although more than 90% of adults in the United Kingdom have received at least one dose of the vaccine, the rate among people between 18 and 30 years is approximately 60%, according to statistics from the Executive.

The Secretary of Health, Sajid Javid, urged people to “take advantage of the discounts”, while thanking the collaborating companies for their commitment.

Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo, and Pizza Pilgrims are among the brands that offer these incentives. “Vaccines that save lives not only protect you, your loved ones and your community, but they also help us to unite again by allowing you to redo the things you missed,” said Javid.

The United Kingdom is not the only country that has promoted these types of strategies to boost vaccination, especially among the young generations.

In the United States, Biden has asked to generalize the incentive of 100 dollars for young people who get vaccinated

US President Joe Biden this week called on state and local governments to join New York and Minnesota in offering $ 100 rewards, hoping a financial incentive will boost those who doubt whether to get vaccinated or do not.

The UK has made it a priority to increase vaccination rates among young people, as infections are skyrocketing and the Boris Johnson government has already made the decision to remove the restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Executive is eager to boost the economy as the national licensing program ends, which guaranteed the salaries of millions of people who could not work due to government restrictions.

Treasury chief Rishi Sunak has urged Prime Minister Boris Johnson to ease international travel restrictions, arguing that Britain’s “draconian” rules are unnecessary given the success of the vaccination program.

The Sunday Times reported that Sunak wrote to Johnson to encourage him to let people enjoy their summer vacation, while expressing concern about the impact the restrictions are having on the tourism and hospitality industry.

Johnson’s cabinet is meeting later this week to review current travel rules, which require expensive covid testing and in some cases periods of isolation for people arriving from Europe’s most popular vacation destinations.

Health Ministry Report

Germany will recommend the vaccine for young people between 12 and 17 years old

Germany’s government will recommend the coronavirus vaccine for all young people ages 12 to 17 on Monday, according to a draft resolution ahead of a planned meeting of state-level health ministers. They also plan to offer reinforcements to high-risk people starting in September. The draft of the report from the Ministry of Health states that all states will begin to offer appointments at vaccination centers for young people.
