UdeC receives the invitation from FEBACHILE and will have the honor of representing the country in the Basketball Champions League Americas | AdPress

The basketball branch of the Universidad de Concepción Sports Club will be part of Group B of the contest where it will face Quimsa (ARG) and Sao Paulo (BRA).

Our basketball branch accepted the invitation made by the Chilean Basketball Federation (FEBACHILE) and will play the Americas Basketball Champions League, thus ensuring the presence of our country for three years in the competition.

After CD Valdivia declined to participate in the tournament, the Federation extended the invitation to our club, which we accepted with honor.

“For our institution and House of Studies it is a tremendous pride to be able to represent the country in this tournament at the continental level where we will face great teams from other countries, which will mean a tremendous challenge that will give touch and experience to a team that seeks to develop”, said the general manager of the Sports Club of the University of Concepción, René Rosas.

The Basketball Champions League Americas is one of the most competitive basketball leagues where teams from South and Central America participate, focusing the attention of the region in terms of basketball.

“It is a tremendous pride for the institution and the club to be able to participate in this important tournament where the best teams on the continent will be present. We appreciate the invitation and we will go out in each game to put the name of the country and the UdeC at the top ”, expressed the Manager of the club’s Basketball Branch, Sergio Montoya.

Our institution will be part of Group B of the contest where we will face Quimsa from Santiago del Estero (ARG and Sao Paulo (BRA). In view of the times of COVID-19, the tournament will be played in a “Bubble” format where the first matches will be in Buenos Aires between March 4 and 6.
