Slovakia’s under-20 hockey team played Friday’s World Junior Championship game against Latvia without Róbert Bač. The 19-year-old forward served a one-match ban for a foul following Wednesday’s match with the United States.

With less than four seconds remaining in the duel with the Americans, the Košice student illegally attacked Gavin Brindley on the post. The referees then watched the video recording, on the basis of which they awarded the Slovak representative a penalty for five minutes and until the end of the match.

The league’s disciplinary committee examined the aforementioned incident on Thursday and concluded that Bačo endangered the opponent’s health and safety with his cross. For this, he punished the young striker with a stoppage for the next match against Latvia.

In the battle with the Baltic opponent, the coaches can count on nineteen skaters. The information was provided by the Hockey Slovakia portal.
