U19 DFB Cup: S04 required in Jena – BVB has to go to Berlin

The junior DFB Cup is back. The first round was drawn on Thursday. The highlight is the Rhenish derby between 1. FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Due to the 2020/21 season end due to the pandemic, the DFB Junior Cup was canceled last year. Now the competition is back. Walter Fricke, chairman of the DFB youth committee, and Hanno Balitsch, assistant coach of the U19 juniors, drew lots for the first round games last Thursday afternoon in Frankfurt.

The A-Juniors of the FC Schalke 04 must therefore run at FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Borussia Dortmund guest at FC Viktoria Berlin. The highlight of round one is the Rhenish derby between 1.FC Cologne and Borussia Mönchengladbach. The reigning cup winner VfB Stuttgart travels to SV Werder Bremen, Fortuna Düsseldorf is challenged at SV Elversberg and TSV Schott Mainz receives Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
