Two “thieves in law” were detained in Lviv region – media

SBU detained two “thieves in law”

Both “crime bosses” are on the NSDC’s sanctions list. One of them is Russian, the other is Georgian.

In the Lviv region, SBU officers detained two “thieves in law”, against whom the National Security and Defense Council had previously imposed personal sanctions. On Tuesday, June 1, Ukrainska Pravda reports with reference to the SBU and its source in law enforcement agencies.

It is noted that on May 28 in Stryi, SBU officers carried out a number of special operations. Investigative actions are underway now, “until the completion of which the disclosure of additional information is not possible.”

The SBU does not disclose details, but according to a media source, the detainees are Russian citizen Viktor Panyushin and Georgian Revaz Katamadze. Their names are on the NSDC’s sanctions list regarding thieves in law.

According to media reports, 62-year-old Viktor Panyushin – known in the criminal world as “Vitya Pan”, is wanted by Interpol.

Katamadze – 47 years old, in the underworld he is known as “Magalo” or “Rezo”.

Recall that on May 14, at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, it was decided to introduce sanctions against thieves in law and “crime bosses”.

After that, it was reported about arrest of two most influential thieves in law in Ukraine nicknamed “Umka” and “Lasha Swan”. They have seized millions of dollars of the common fund.

Also dozens of “thieves in law” were expelled from Ukraine… The “crime bosses” were revoked their residence permit in Ukraine and were forcibly deported after the decision of the National Security and Defense Council.
