Two Riders Fall on the Last Day of the Mandalika MotoGP Test

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

two racers, Joan Mir and Raul Fernandezgot sick on the last day of the event Mandalika MotoGP test 2022, Sunday (13/2).

Mir was first known to be sick. The 2020 MotoGP world champion has not taken part in the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP test session since this morning. In fact, his teammate, Alex Rins, was the first racer to take the motorbike out of the paddock.

It is known that Mir then experienced abdominal pain and vomited, but the Suzuki Ecstar team denied that Mir was positive for Covid-19.

“Joan Mir had stomach pain and vomiting this morning. He has been to Clinica Mobile where he has been diagnosed with food poisoning. There is no reason to suspect he is positive for Covid-19,” wrote the @Suzukimotogp account at 10.02 WIB.

While Mir couldn’t take part in the race since morning, Fernandez had time to try out the asphalt of the Mandalika Circuit in the morning.

Unlike other racers who underwent dozens of laps, the Tech3 KTM racer only completed seven laps. The record time was only 1 minute 34.896 seconds, or was in the most distended position compared to 22 other drivers.

Towards 10.00 WIB there was an announcement that the KTM Tech3 team would make an announcement regarding Fernandez. It was later known that the announcement was about Fernandez’s physical condition.

“This morning, Raul Fernandez did not feel in good condition as he decided to return to the pits after the Mandalika MotoGP test.”

“He then did a medical checkup, as a continuation of the previous day’s examination. And then the doctor decided the best option was to stop riding the motorbike for today. So the Mandalika Test is over for Raul. He did an amazing thing here,” wrote Tech 3 in an Instagram account theirs.
