Two people killed in fire accidents last day In the spotlight

Last day, 25 fires were extinguished in Latvia and two people died, two were injured and five were rescued, according to statistics compiled by the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).

A total of nine fires were extinguished in Riga, four in other cities and 12 in counties.

During the day, SFRS employees performed 39 rescue operations and received 15 misleading calls.

Since the beginning of the year, 4316 fires have been extinguished in Latvia, of which 1379 were cases of burning, 137 people were injured in fires, 167 were rescued, and 46 died, including one minor, according to SFRS statistics.
