Two participants withdrew just before the Kompani final

After two hard days of survival in the wilderness, where the six remaining aspirants were kidnapped, they had to go on a march again without knowing their destination or duration.

Then it said stop for Tone Damli (34). The profiled artist was already not sure if she would continue in the episode that aired Wednesday, but remained after a pep talk with the captain.

Correct decision

Also in Saturday’s episode, she is at first in doubt whether she will give up, and pushes herself for about another 20 minutes, before she finally throws in the towel.

The company participant breaks down and considers withdrawing

– Company aspirant 10, Damli … what were the words ?, says a clearly exhausted Damli to the captain.

– Gives up, the captain answers.

– Gives up, she repeats.

When TV 2 talks to Damli a few days after the exit, she is still quite sure that she has made the right decision.

– The body had been through some violent weeks. To put it this way: I have not regretted for a second that I withdrew, she says.

When TV 2 contacts Damli on Friday, she admits that the week’s first episode changed the skew safety a bit.

– Until Wednesday’s episode, I was extremely happy with that decision. I felt so strongly that it was right, but when you sit and watch it on TV, I could not help but think: “That I could not stand it!”. But that was the way it had to be at the time, she says.

The 34-year-old explains that both the physique and the psyche failed at that time.

– My feet no longer carried and the motivation was gone. That’s why I chose to thank myself.

Had reached the goal

Shortly after Damli has left the company, another aspirant drops out, namely artist colleague Ruben Markussen (27).

– I give up. I’m quite sure. I’m very proud of what I have managed, so it does not feel awkward to make that choice. It’s going well for me, I feel I have got the development I came here to get, says Ruben Markussen in the episode.

He denies that he was influenced by Damli’s choice, although he admits that the idea of a better dinner with his artist colleague was alluring.

– That was not the reason I left. I had thought for a long time about taking the trip home, but I was constantly trying to get out and motivate myself to move on. But of course, thinking that I could go to a hotel with Tone and have dinner, it did not hurt, he says and smiles.

Damli admits that she was almost a little annoyed at first when she saw that Markussen came to the hotel that evening.

– I was almost a little angry, because I was so sure that he would manage this. I also think he had more in him, but I am the first to understand that decision, she says.

Regrets one thing in retrospect

Markussen has also expressed that he has wanted to give up earlier in the competition, but was, like Damli, persuaded to continue. Now, however, he was aware that he could not be persuaded to stay.

Comes with an admission: – Have been thinking about it for a long time

– I had done what I came here to do. I came here to challenge, develop and surprise myself. And I feel that I have done that to a very large extent, says Markussen just after the exit.

When TV 2 contacts him just over six months after the recording, he does not directly regret that he withdrew, but that he could not do more.

– It is something completely different to sit at home for six months afterwards and think: “I could do that”. It was a difficult task and I got to a point where I had to take several rounds with myself, before I made the choice. I tried to convince myself that I could do more, but ended up being happy with the effort and the experience. I still wish I had more to go on, so if it is possible to regret it, I will do it, says Markussen.

The 27-year-old says that it was a great contrast to come home from Setnesmoen.

Cracks together over Nereng’s ninja stunt: – Click for the whole gang ?!

– It was very strange! I remember feeling a kind of feeling that I did not do enough or did not challenge myself enough in everyday life, at the same time it was completely magical to be able to remind myself that I could just relax, he says.

Crack together

Damli says that she completely broke down when she saw her cohabitant Markus Foss and children Billie (7) and Marlon (1).

– That was amazing. When I sat on the plane train, I knew that my family was waiting for me on Oslo S, so then I had a heartbeat and felt a childlike joy the whole train ride, says the mother of two.

When she arrived, all the emotions came at once.

– I started laughing as soon as I saw them. I think I tried to push away the feeling of longing throughout my stay, but now it came, at the same time as I was very tired. Then I cracked completely, Damli explains.

Now only four participants remain in Kompani Lauritzen: Marius Skjelbæk (31), Emilie Nereng (26), Emilie Enger Mehl (28) and Rikke Isaksen (27).

Watch Kompani Lauritzen on Wednesdays and Saturdays on TV 2 and TV 2 Play.
