Two magnitude 4 earthquakes hit Greece

Two earthquakes, each with a magnitude above the fourth degree, were recorded this morning in different regions of southern Greece, ANA-MPA reported.

The strongest quake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and occurred in the sea off the Peloponnese peninsula at 7:30am. Its epicenter was 52 km south of the city of Methoni, and the depth of the outbreak was calculated by the Greek Institute of Geodynamics at 17 km.

The other earthquake measuring 4.1, also offshore, had its epicenter 39 km north-northeast of the city of Neapoli in the prefecture of Lasithi on the island of Crete. The quake was registered at 10:12 local (and Bulgarian) time, BTA reported.
