Two isolated cases of coronavirus in Seine-et-Marne

The much-feared news fell just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The prefecture announced that two people living in Seine-et-Marne were infected with the coronavirus or Covid-19. These are the first cases reported in the department. “Their state of health shows no sign of seriousness,” says the prefecture.

This brings the number of sick people in France to 285, 73 more than the old one. In Ile-de-France, the Regional Health Agency evokes 60 cases this Wednesday evening, including seven new cases today.

These two Seine-et-Marne patients are hospitalized at the Groupe hospitalier Sud Île-de-France (GHSIF) in Melun, a level 2 reference establishment since Tuesday, like all hospitals where a Samu sits.

These two people, whose age and gender are unknown at this time, have been screened and diagnosed with coronavirus. Their results were received in the middle of the afternoon.

“They were taken care of by the establishment’s infectious disease team. Their condition does not inspire concern, ”confirms Dominique Peljak, director of the South Ile-de-France hospital group.

No towns under cover this Wednesday evening

If the two patients live well in the department, “they do not live in the same place,” says the prefecture of Seine-et-Marne. The latter does not wish, for the time being, to communicate about their place of residence “so as not to create a feeling of panic among the inhabitants”.
