Starting in 2022, in Blitar Regency there have been two cases of Dengue Fever in Blitar Regency.

Head of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Section of the Blitar District Health Office, Eko Wahyudi, said that throughout 2021 there were 105 cases of Dengue Fever in Blitar Regency, of which one of them died.

“Compared to the previous year, the number of dengue cases has decreased quite significantly, where in 2020 it reached 199 cases with one patient dying,” said Eko Wahyudi.

Eko Wahyudi continued, while at the beginning of 2022 his party had received reports that there were two cases of Dengue Fever in January 2022, namely in Kesamben District and Talun District.

“Currently, we ensure that we continue to anticipate the occurrence of mosquito breeding that causes dengue fever,” he said.

In addition, his party also conducted direct socialization to provide education on Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities.

“Even the Health Service Officers also continue to do fogging according to operational standards to prevent the spread of DB,” he explained.

Eko Wahyudi added, there are several factors causing the number of dengue fever sufferers throughout 2021 to decrease compared to the previous year, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
