As reported from The Verge, Twitter could be about to integrate a function that we already knew, but that we had not seen for a long time. It’s about status updates, a feature that will allow us to see all kinds of information about our contacts. These states ranged from their most current reflections, the music they were listening to, and even some videos.
Now, it appears that the feature is under development from the Twitter offices. In the report of the aforementioned source we can confirm that a user of the social network and researcher in reverse engineering, Manchun Wong, was the first person to see this function. Apparently it’s being created under the codename ‘Vibe’.
Wong already has a good track record in anticipating future updates to social platforms. According to the screenshots that she uploaded to her bill from Twitter; the option could be activated using a button that reads ‘Set a status‘ (“Establish a state”).
In the image we can see a list with predetermined phrases and situations. Among them ‘Eating delicious ramen’, ‘shopping for groceries’, ‘Wandering through Twitter’ and several more. It is not known at this time if this feature will allow you to set custom statuses, however, it seems that we will be able to limit who can see it.
In addition to reminding us of BlackBerry Messenger, this feature also brings an air to the Feelings/Activities we find on Facebook. This function allows us to do something similar: establish how we feel about something; and what we find ourselves doing at a given moment.
