Twitter Shows First Images Of Super Follow Subscription With Exclusive Tweets – IT Pro – News

Twitter is investigating a Super Follow feature, which allows followers of an account to get additional features for a fee. The platform cites the examples of a special one badge and exclusive tweets and newsletters. Whether and when this function appears is not clear.

With Super Follow, Twitter wants to make it possible for users to earn from other Twitter users through the platform. Twitter is aiming for large accounts with many followers. The company does not seem to have made a final decision on whether this position will be created or not. Twitter will probably get a share of the proceeds.

In a presentation addressed to investors and analysts Twitter gives the example of an account that the fictional Regina Lennox wants to Super Follow. For five dollars a month, a user in this example gets one supporter badge, exclusive newsletters and tweets, discounts and access to a closed Community. Communities is another new feature that Twitter announced. It is not known to what extent the person being tracked can adjust the conditions of the subscription himself. For example, it is not clear whether the person followed can determine how much the subscription costs each month.

Following the example, subscribers can cancel at any time. Large accounts could use Super Follows to, for example, show videos to subscribers before other followers see this video. Only subscribers can then respond under this tweet. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced earlier this week to work on the paywall.

With Communities, Twitter wants to make it easier for users to find messages and information about a specific topic. This could be a social theme, such as social justice, or a topic such as cats or plants. Users must be able to create and follow communities themselves.

Finally, Twitter is working on several functions that should improve the well-being of users. For example, in the future, users may be notified if any of their posts receive negative attention, such as offensive or ‘spammy’ comments. Twitter probably wants to do this so that users can keep a better eye on the comments under their posts and, for example, hide comments if necessary.

Twitter is also working on a ‘safe mode’. When Twitter detects that users are sending abusive or spammy messages to a user who has enabled safe mode, that safe mode restricts those “annoying” users from communicating with that account for a week. In addition, the reactions of these users are shown to fewer people. Twitter is also working on an automatic blocking and mute feature. For example, when users turn on this feature, they see fewer messages containing swear words.
