Twitch Allows Content Creators to Block Banned Users from Watching Streams

While X is trying to remove the ability for users to block other accounts on the platform, Twitch has now revealed that it is adding that option.

A plataforma de streaming confirmed which will start allowing content creators to block other platform users from viewing and participating in broadcasts. When an account is blocked, it is prevented from accessing new transmissions that the creators carry out. However, control will be given to the creators: they can choose to only block certain features, such as participating in the chat, or banning the transmission completely.

The block is applied to both the current and future broadcasts, until the creator directly removes the block from the account. Obviously, there is a clear limitation of this functionality, bearing in mind that it only works with users who have an active session on the platform.

Nothing prevents the same user from logging out of their account and anonymously accessing the transmission to view it. But without the benefits you would have as having a registered account.

Also, blocking only applies to accounts. Therefore, users can always create another alternative account to continue the practices, but unfortunately this will be something that can happen on any social platform.

This news is expected to be available to content creators on Twitch over the next few days.
