Twins with different prices, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 GT-Line

The price of the Kia EV6 GT-Line for the Indonesian market has been officially announced. With the status of imported goods, the price of the Kia EV6 GT-Line is much higher than the price of its twin i.e. the Hyundai Ioniq 5 which has been locally assembled at the Cikarang plant in Bekasi.

For information, the Kia EV6 GT-Line is offered in a variant with a price tag of Rp. 1,299,000,000 (Rp. 1,229 billion) On The Road Jakarta. This is the tallest variant because it is equipped with an all-wheel drive system, also known as All Wheel Drive.

Compared to its twin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the price of the Kia EV6 GT-Line is much higher. For comparison, the highest Ioniq 5 variant, the Signature-Long Range, costs IDR 859,000,000 or IDR 440,000,000 less than the EV6 GT-Line.

Prices for the other three variants of the Ioniq 5 are much cheaper than for the EV6 GT-Line. Banderol Ioniq 5 Signature-Standard Range Rp. 809,000,000 (Rp. 490,000,000 less), Ioniq 5 Prime-Long Range Rp. 789,000,000 (Rp. 510,000,000 less) and Ioniq 5 Prime-Standard Range Rp. 748,000,000 (Rp. 510,000,000 less).

In addition to competing with the Ioniq 5, the Kia EV6 GT-Line also competes with several Japanese-made electric crossovers that have been officially sold in Indonesia, such as Toyota and even Lexus.

Toyota has the bZ4X electric crossover which is marketed slightly cheaper, i.e. Rp. 1,190,000,000 (Rp. 1,190 billion). Besides the bZ4X, the EV6 GT-Line also competes with the Lexus UX 300e, which costs around IDR 1,400,000,000 (IDR 1.4 billion).

For information, the Kia EV6 GT-Line is built on the latest New Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) from the Hyundai group. This electric car is equipped with dual motors with four-wheel drive capable of outputting up to 320 HP and 605 Nm of torque.

Equipped with a battery capacity of 77.4 kWh and an 800-volt electrical architecture, the Kia EV6 GT-Line can continue to drive up to 506 km. It takes 7 hours to charge the battery when using an AC wall charger with 11 kW of power.

Meanwhile, if you use fast charging with 50kW DC current, it takes just 73 minutes to charge from 10 to 80%. The Kia EV6 GT-Line can also use DC ultra-fast charging with an output of 200 kW and above to recharge up to 80% in 18 minutes.
