The first home office draft in NFL history was watched by an average of 15.6 million TV viewers – a record number in the history of the world’s best American football league. The six-year-old record (12.4 million / 2014) was clearly exceeded, the NFL announced on Friday.
The first round was broadcast on Thursday evening by ABC, ESPN, the NFL Network and ESPN Deportes. It was the first live broadcast of a sporting event in the United States since the corona pandemic broke out.
Because of the corona pandemic, the draft did not go as planned as a big spectacle in Las Vegas this time. Instead, all trainers and managers worked from home and were in contact via the Internet, telephone and cell phone. The draft goes over seven rounds.
