Colombian cyclist Nairo Alexander Quintana suffered two heavy falls on Monday, April 11, while competing in the second stage of the Tour of Turkey.
Quintana went to the ground with 37 kilometers remaining to the finish line after Alpecin Fenix’s Jay Vine lost control of his bike and pushed Nairo, who went off the road and fell into the bushes.
However, Nairo suffered a mishap again in the final stretch, less than 4 kilometers from the finish line. The boyacense went to the ground and ended up with some other bicycles on top of him, so he wasted time and presented a series of burns on the left side of his body.
After the day, the Arkéa-Samsic team released an official medical report confirming that Nairo will start the third day on Tuesday.
