Turkey Offers Assistance to Gaza’s Cancer Patients and Condemns Israeli Attacks

On Thursday, Koca said that Ankara is ready to receive cancer patients from the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza, which is the only cancer treatment hospital in the Strip and which went out of service after running out of fuel last week.

Koca added on Sunday that he discussed the matter during a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart on Saturday.

Koca said on the social media platform Providing assistance to them.”

He added: “They are on their way to Egypt through the Rafah border crossing.”

He said: “Planning will then be made to transport cancer patients and those in critical condition to our country via ambulance aircraft and ships equipped as hospitals.”

The UAE announced, on Tuesday, that it intends to treat 1,000 Palestinian children from Gaza, without explaining how they will leave the Strip there.

Turkey has so far sent more than 200 tons of humanitarian aid and a team of medical workers to Egypt to direct it to Gaza residents, while also offering to establish a field hospital near the Rafah border crossing.

Türkiye strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and called for a ceasefire.

Israel has been tightening its siege of Gaza and has continued its bombing for about 4 weeks following the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, which the Israeli authorities say led to the death of 1,400 people.

Koca said that Egypt granted permission for two Turkish ships carrying ambulances and materials for a field hospital for Gaza residents to dock in its ports.
