June 27, 2020

Tunis, Tunisia, June 27 (Infosplusgabon) – Tunisia opened its land, sea and air borders this Saturday for the first time since their closure in mid-March as part of the measures taken by the authorities to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), it was found.

The CEO of the Tunisian Air Company TunisAir, Elyes Mnakbi said that his company is ready to ensure safe flights respecting the necessary protection measures, noting that the rate of travelers on each flight will not exceed 40% of the total seats.

But, he argued, TunisAir needs urgent financial support from the state estimated at 100 million dinars to accomplish its main mission in economic development by opening up to new destinations, including to African countries to attract investors and strengthen the export of Tunisian products.

The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism had indicated that the World Council for Transport and Tourism has classified Tunisia as a safe country to receive tourists.
