President Donald trump signed a decree this Thursday that opens the door for social networks to receive demands for the content they publish.

The decree directs regulatory bodies, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to study whether new regulations can be applied to internet companies, it reported. the agency AP.

“They have had unlimited power to censor, restrict, edit, mold, hide, alter any form of communication between citizens or large public audiences,” Trump said when signing the decree in the Oval Office of the White House with Attorney General William Barr. .

“There is no precedent in American history that such a small number of corporations control such a wide range of human interaction,” added Trump.

Barr expects the decree to be appealed in court, but said it is the correct measure.
