Former US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he would hold a press conference on January 6, the first anniversary of the assault on Capitol Hill by his supporters.
In a statement, the Republican billionaire said he would discuss the presidential election of November 2020. The former president criticized the parliamentary commission investigating this attack which shocked the United States and the world, by accusing it of being “extremely biased”. “I will hold a press conference on January 6 in Mar-a-Lago to discuss all these points and other things,” said the former president.
A new mandate in 2024?
Donald Trump, who lost the 2020 election by more than seven million votes to Democrat Joe Biden, has hinted in recent months that he could run for another term in 2024. The parliamentary committee he denounces seeks to shed light on the events of January 6, 2021.
