CNN: Trump lawyer pleads guilty in Georgia case
Donald Trump’s former lawyer Sidney Powell pleads guilty in the case of election influence in the state of Georgia, reports CNN.
The channel writes that the prosecution is asking for a six-year probationary period. Reuters writes that she pleaded guilty to six charges,
Powell was a lawyer for Trump’s campaign apparatus. Along with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, she led an unsuccessful effort to get the court to overturn the election results in several swing states in the weeks after the 2020 presidential election.
She is one of the 19 defendants in the case. Among them is Trump himself.
