“Chris Krebs’ recent statement on the security of the 2020 elections was very inaccurate because [tajās] there were massive irregularities and fraud, “Tramps wrote on his tweet.
“That’s why Chris Krebs is being removed from the position of director of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency,” and the decision takes effect immediately, tweeted Trump.
Trump’s decision to dismiss Krebs, whom he himself had appointed, was made at a time when Trump refused to recognize Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
Former Microsoft spokesman Krebs has headed the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency since it was formed following Russia’s intervention in the 2016 US presidential election. His work had earned the recognition of both Republicans and Democrats.
Krebs had repeatedly challenged allegations of fraud in the US presidential election on November 3 in recent days. On Tuesday, he published a report on Twitter, citing 59 election security experts, saying there was no credible evidence of computer fraud affecting the outcome of the election.
