This Monday, March 30, state officials announced nearly 700 new cases, bringing the total number statewide to 4,087. There have also been at least 50 deaths reported in the state.

Pete Gaynor, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Homeland Security, named MaryAnn Tierney as the Federal Coordinating Officer for federal recovery operations in affected areas.

During a press conference Monday afternoon, Wolf announced that Pennsylvania schools will remain closed until further notice, as state home stay orders have been extended through April 30.

“We are going to keep our schools and businesses closed whenever we need to keep them closed to keep Pennsylvania safe. Right now, it is not safe,” he said.

Wolf extended the home stay order to several additional counties, primarily in central Pennsylvania. The order was already in effect for Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
