Truck driver startled by wasp and ends up on a crash barrier at Middenmeer | Inland

The incident happened around 1 p.m., near the Agriport business park. The driver was driving on the A7 when he tried to open a window and a wasp flew in. Out of automatic reaction, the driver tried to chase the wasp out of his cabin. While he was doing that, the truck ended up in the emergency lane. The vehicle then came into contact with the crash barrier and came to a stop on it and against a bridge railing.

Diesel

The fire brigade was also called because the truck was leaking diesel. On arrival, the tank had already been emptied and the fire service was able to prevent further spread of the diesel.

At the moment where the truck ended up, hard work is being done on a new bridge next door. The crane operator of the crane standing there got the shock of his life when he saw the truck coming straight at him. Fortunately, the truck did not come over the crash barrier and eventually came to a stop next to the crane.

Because of the recovery of the truck, there will be a telecrane to lift the truck. It is expected that the entire A7 will be closed for this, which will take a few hours.

The guardrail will also have to be replaced over a distance of 100 meters because it is heavily damaged
