French group Trigano, number one in the motorhome sector in Europe, has just announced that it has hired a Fiat executive – Stéphane Gigou – to take over from CEO François Feuillet, 72 years old. A press release from Trigano therefore indicates that “the succession of François Feuillet is taking place. We specify that Stéphane Gigou will join the Trigano group on 1 July 2020, as deputy general manager and will be called upon to assume, in the short term, the chairmanship of the company’s board of directors and CEO position for the whole group “.
The French Stéphane Gigou, 48 years old, he graduated in economics and business from the Sapienza University of Rome, “has spent his entire career in the automotive sector (first Renault and then Fiat Chrysler)”, specifies Trigano. François Feuillet, who has led the French leader in the recreational vehicle sector since 1981, will remain on the supervisory board, once replaced by Stéphane Gigou as chairman of the board. The change of management is not a surprise, the historical director of Trigano has long announced its intention to take a step back from 2020.
“The Feuillet family intends to maintain its position as majority shareholder, “said the company, listed on the Paris stock exchange.
The Trigano group, which has 25 motorhome brands (including Chausson, Challenger, Adria and Autostar), recorded a net profit of 167.5 million euros (-10.5%) compared to the financial year 2018/2019 for a turnover of 2.33 billion euros (+ 0.6%).
In early May, it posted a net profit down 8.7% to 65.7 million euros in the first half (September-February) of the fiscal year 2019/2020, before the coronavirus crisis worsened the situation. The company had previously warned that its business and results would be “heavily influenced” by the pandemic in the second half.
