Trials – Mönchengladbach – Judgments in the abuse process: partly over 14 years imprisonment – Panorama

Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) – In the first trial of the Bergisch Gladbach abuse complex, the Mönchengladbach regional court wants to announce the verdicts today (3 p.m.). The two defendants from Krefeld and Viersen are accused of serious sexual child abuse in over 100 cases as well as the production, distribution and possession of child pornography. Sometimes they are said to have committed the acts together. The prosecutor demanded a prison sentence of 13 years and nine months for the 39-year-old Krefeld. The 39-year-old defendant from Viersen is to be jailed for fourteen and a half years.

The accused had “exchanged children like sex toys,” said the prosecutor. They would have created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. To do this, they introduced a system of gifts in cash and in kind that was aimed specifically at rewarding and familiarizing the children.

Already after his arrest in November of last year, the Krefeld-born man confessed to having regularly and seriously sexually abused his 11-year-old daughter since 2016. From spring 2017 onwards, he and the co-defendant are said to have regularly and severely sexually abused his now twelve-year-old niece. With the confession, he spared the children a testimony in court.

The co-defendant from Viersener only admitted that he had violated his niece on a massive scale since 2015 – and that only in a third of the accused. The criminal trial began on April 29th.
