Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – After a three-month break, the process of group rape of an 18-year-old in Freiburg continues today. In order to be able to comply with the minimum distances applicable for protection against the corona virus, the district court of Freiburg is no longer negotiating as before. For the first time, the process now takes place in a large concert and event hall of a Freiburg parish. The last negotiation was in mid-February. The process has been on hold since then. The planned continuation in mid-March and other dates had been canceled due to Corona.
The process started at the end of June last year. Eleven men between the ages of 18 and 30 are charged with rape or failure to provide assistance. Most of them are refugees. They are accused of raping the 18-year-old in a bush in front of a disco in Freiburg in mid-October 2018, or of not helping her. You deny this or remain silent on the allegations. The court expects judgments at the end of July at the earliest (file number 6 KLs 181 Js 1138/19 AK 2/19 and 6 KLs 181 Js 35640/18 AK 3/19).
