Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – A trial of large-scale fraud involving rental deposits before the Frankfurt Regional Court was temporarily postponed on Friday because the accused disappeared. The 31-year-old is charged by the public prosecutor’s office of having collected more than 30,000 euros in rental deposits from numerous interested parties at the end of 2019, although he had no right of disposal over the apartments and rooms offered in several newspaper and Internet advertisements. Many of the 24 victims paid the bail he was asked for, although they never saw the apartments on offer. (Ref .: 3260 Js 219736/20)

As it was said at the court, one must first wait until the accused is again available to the judiciary. He was not in custody after the incident.
