The Grammy Awards, dubbed as music’s biggest night, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcasted live on the CBS Television Network and streamed on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

Leading Nominees and Strong Contenders at the 2024 Grammy Awards

This year, the leading Grammy nominations are dominated by SZA, Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea, and Victoria Monét. Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift are also among the strong contenders.

Who is Trevor Noah?

Trevor Noah, a comedian and best-selling author, began his television career in Johannesburg, South Africa, before making a name for himself in the United States. He is internationally recognized for his role as the former host of Comedy Central’s late-night program “The Daily Show,” which he took on after Jon Stewart’s departure in 2015.

Over the past seven years, Noah’s time as host of “The Daily Show” has garnered him numerous accolades, including two Emmy Awards. In 2018, TIME magazine hailed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Noah’s remarkable journey from growing up in apartheid-era South Africa is detailed in his memoir, “Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood,” published in 2016. He attributes his resilience and success to his mother’s unwavering support.

Hosting the Grammy Awards is not new to Noah as he previously hosted the ceremony in 2021 and has eagerly embraced the opportunity each year since. In an interview, Noah admitted to the nerve-wracking nature of the role, especially when it comes to performing comedy in front of music industry superstars.

“Every comedian understands the challenge of finding the right balance between humor, targeted jokes, and still being respectful,” Noah explained. “Personally, with the Grammys, given the celebrity status of the attendees, it’s crucial to strike that delicate balance and not offend anyone.”

Trevor Noah’s Contributions Outside “The Daily Show”

In addition to his television work, Trevor Noah has made appearances in several films. He provided the voice for the character Griot in both “Black Panther” and the upcoming sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Prior to joining “The Daily Show,” Noah established himself in the comedy, TV, and radio scene in South Africa, hosting his own late-night talk show titled “Tonight with Trevor Noah” from 2010 to 2011. He made history as the first South African comedian to perform on “The Tonight Show” and the “Late Show with David Letterman” after moving to the United States in 2011.
