Travel to New York and Sydney with Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass

The second Wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass adds 8 new tracks to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game on Nintendo Switch

July 28, 2022 – Rev up the engines! From August 4, eight new tracks will open their doors in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, thanks to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass, a paid DLC* on Nintendo Switch. Wave 2 includes the incredibly delicious Sorbet City circuit, new to the Mario Kart** series of games. In addition, you can marvel at the colorful neon lights of the New York Escapade circuit or drive at full speed under the Australian sun of the Sprint circuit in Sydney, two courses from the Mario Kart Tour game. To discover these tracks, and many more, all belonging to Wave 2, watch the video without further delay Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass arrives on August 4! (Nintendo Switch).

Wave 2 will include the Turnip and Chopper Cups, whose well-known and ultra-fast tracks have already appeared in previous installments of the Mario Kart series on Super Nintendo, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS and Wii consoles, but also in Mario Kart Tour mobile game. Each circuit can be enjoyed locally or online***. The Cups will be divided as follows:

  • Turnip Cut:
    • New York Getaway – Race through towering buildings and take in the views as you cruise through the shimmering park in this Big Apple-style level, a re-imagining of the original Mario Kart Tour mobile game track.
    • Circuit Mario 3 (Super Nintendo) – Control your drifts to attack every turn and avoid the Teleportation Pipe in this 100% classic circuit, which first appeared in Super Mario Kart on Super Nintendo.
    • Kalimari Desert (N64) – This desert route has the particularity of making you come across an old locomotive, right in the middle of the circuit. Be careful not to create delays!
    • Pinball Waluigi (DS) – Roll, bounce, and master this circuit that looks like a giant pinball machine, rich in a thousand sounds and lights. Take care never to tilt!
  • Helicopter Cup:
    • Sprint in Sydney – Soak up the sun and fly over the bay while enjoying a scenic drive… A circuit originally published in Mario Kart Tour.
    • Snow Country (GBA) – Be careful not to slip on this Mario Kart: Super Circuit winter track. And don’t forget: a cool head never makes a mistake!
    • Mushroom Gorge (Wii) – This circuit features an underground cavern, deep chasms, and giant mushrooms to bounce on. Land gently!
    • Cité sorbet – The competition may heat up, but you can play it cool on this “sweet” circuit, filled with gigantic desserts at every turn. Prove that you are the sor-BEST in this 100% new level!

Wave 2 will be added to Wave 1, which is already available and offers eight circuits, including Supermarché Coco (Wii), Montagne Choco (N64), Circuit Toad (3DS), Corniche Champignon (DS), and Jardin Volant ( GBA), but also Dojo Ninja, Promenade à Paris and Traversée de Tokyo from Mario Kart Tour. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass is made up of 6 distinct waves, each consisting of eight tracks, and all of them will be made available by the end of 2023.

Multiply the power of your Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Circuits Pass and take more jumps, more turns, more chicanes to race on a total of 48 remastered circuits, divided into 6 waves available at different dates. Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass will land on August 4, enriching the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe catalog on Nintendo Switch with eight new, even faster and more boosted tracks. The all-new Sorbet City level will make its first appearance, along with a selection of well-known and beloved tracks from the Mario Kart series of games. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Additional Tracks Pass will consist of six waves, each consisting of eight tracks, and all available by the end of 2023.
