On February 1, 2023, Flybair proudly published its summer timetable with destinations to Lübeck, Jerez de la Frontera, Olbia, Alicante and Bastia. But the route to Bastia is now being removed from the flight plan.
“Due to the short-term decision of our flight partner Lübeck Air to sell their only ATR72-500 aircraft, we were unfortunately not able to reschedule the available flight capacity in order to maintain the route to Bastia. But Corsica could be offered again next year, »says Urs Ryf, administration delegate of the start-up company. On the Bern-Lübeck route, Lübeck Air will use a Dornier 328 instead of the ATR72-500.
Affected passengers who have booked directly with Flybair will be contacted directly from March 20, 2023. You can either rebook the booked flights free of charge to Alicante, Jerez de la Frontera or Olbia, whereby possible fare differences will not be charged, or have your ticket refunded.
Nevertheless, after about six weeks there is a positive trend, according to Flybair: “We are pleased that our offer is meeting higher demand for holiday destinations from Bern. We are satisfied with the current booking development, »says Ryf.
The summer program from Bern Airport includes a total of 12 destinations, four of which can be booked with Flybair:
- Lübeck, every Thursday and Sunday from May 14, 2023
- Olbia, every Friday and Sunday from May 26, 2023
- Alicante, every Friday from June 9, 2023
- Jerez de la Frontera, every Friday from September 1st, 2023
