Transportation asks to audit the Bermejo – San Antonio road

The April 15 Autotransport Federation of the department of Tarija sued the departmental authorities of the Government to carry out financial audits of the San Antonio-Bermejo asphalt construction project in the Arce province, in order to know the millionaire investment that was allocated to this project since 2007 and that until now the commissioned work has not been completed.

The transport representative of Tarija, Gabriel Pérez, pointed out that his sector requested the departmental authorities to carry out audits in order to know the destination of the financing of the work, and to sanction those responsible for the failure of the project that continues in execution for more than a decade in the municipality of Bermejo.

Investment The Road Administration Directorate allocated more than Bs 5 million to complete the San Antonio Bermejo road

The leader assures that it is necessary to implement economic audits of the project from 2007 to date and activate legal proceedings against those responsible for the former Departmental Road Service (Sedeca) and the Bermejo San Antonio Unit (Ubesan1), to find out what It happened with the millionaire budgets assigned to this work by the authorities for more than three administrations.

The Bermejo San Antonio road project that began in 2007 with the former prefecture of Tarija continues unfinished to date, due to a series of modifications to the designs and costs of the project, it has been more than 14 years since they built this work and the asphalt continues without concluding despite the commitment of the authorities in each effort to finish the work, lamented Pérez.

It should be remembered that the project called “Ruta de la Dignidad” began in the management of the former prefect, Mario Cossío, in 2007, with an investment of more than 200 million Bolivians, however, in the management of the former governor, Lino Condori , the work was observed and put out to tender, with the San Antonio Accidental Association (ASA) being the successful bidder, who also had difficulties and countless changes of orders during Lino Condori’s management. The project made little progress in its execution despite having significant income from royalties in the central administration.

In 2016, an attempt was made to reactivate and conclude the project in the mandate of the former governor, Adrián Oliva, but the conclusion of the work was left only with promises and good intentions and with a series of irregularities and complaints by the administration of the budget allocated to asphalt San Antonio Bermejo.

More than 14 years after starting the construction of the work and with several former directors of Sedeca threatened with jail by the management of that time, the current Governor, Oscar Montes, indicated that the Road Administration Directorate (DAV) will end the asphalt work on the Bermejo-San Antonio road section, for this purpose they determined to pave 5.2 kilometers by the end of the year, out of a total of 9.7 kilometers and the rest for the next administration.
