To verify this idea, a Parisian team * conducted a study, starting in January. They focused on hospital caregivers who had been exposed to a case of Covid-19 before it was identified, or before it developed symptoms.

On the basis of the first results obtained, the authors confirm that there are many people in whom an excretion of the virus is demonstrated by systematic nasopharyngeal swabs, before they develop symptoms – or even without them develop some. “These results confirm the importance of containment to combat the development of the epidemic,” they conclude.
