One of the victims died in a plane crash in MalaysiaShaharul Amir Omar, sent a selfie to his family, Thursday (17/8).
Shaharul’s sister, Norsahirah Omar, said that her sister had never previously sent selfies to the family group on WhatsApp.
“Before this, the deceased never took selfies. When boarding a plane [kali ini]she looks very excited, different from usual,” Norsyahirah said on Thursday, as quoted by local Malaysian media, daily Metro.
He then said, “He sent a lot of selfies on the plane. Maybe he already felt like he was going to leave us.”
Norsyahirah did not think that the upload was the last conversation from her sister.
He and his family were shocked when they saw photos and videos of the plane crash circulating on social media. He tried to contact his sister, but there was no answer.
Norsyahirah then got the news that Shaharul had told the mother that he would fly from Kedah to Selangor.
Realizing this information, Norsyahirah immediately rushed to their mother’s house in Sik, Kedah.
His mother and other siblings then went to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital to check on Shaharul.
In Norsyahirah’s eyes, Shaharul is the person responsible after the father’s death. He also helped his siblings a lot.
Shaharul, he said, also often spends time to gather with his family. But now, Shaharul is gone.
He was one of the passengers on the Beechcraft Model 390 plane that crashed on the streets of Selangor on Thursday.
Apart from Shaharul all seven other people who were on the plane also died. Not only them, a car driver and a motorcycle on the street also died.
All victims were rushed to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah hospital for the identification process.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport said authorities were investigating the cause of the plane crash.
