Tragic Death of Pilot Mid-Flight: LATAM Airlines Diversion and Passengers Open Aircraft Doors in the Air

There were 271 passengers on board the plane, which was on its way from Miami in the USA to Chile’s capital Santiago on Monday 14 August.

– We confirm that flight LA505, which was on its way from Miami to Santiago, had to land at the airport in Tocumen due to a medical emergency among one of the members of the cockpit crew. The emergency services provided life-saving first aid when the plane landed, but unfortunately the pilot passed away, the statement says.
