Friday’s free practice of the German Superbike Championship (IDM) race at the Hockenheimring had an unfortunate course. 24-year-old driver Leon Langstädtler skidded and Daniel Kirchhoff, who was driving behind him, didn’t have time to react. The young competitor died from his injuries.
The accident occurred during the second free practice of the last round of the German championship. Langstädtler was entering the circuit when he skidded and a rival driving behind him ran into him at a speed of two hundred kilometers.
The marshals responded immediately, stopping the training and starting resuscitation. But the young competitor’s injuries were incompatible with his life.
Today a very serious accident occurred on the Hockenheimring circuit (during free practice 2 of the IDM Superbike, the highest German national motorcycle championship.) And Leon Langstädtler died.
