Traffic in and around Freiburg

The city of Freiburg has to avoid traffic jams in the tunnels on the B31 and uses a traffic light at the tunnel entrance. That is why the Dreisamtal now fears increasing alternative traffic.
Currently, traffic on the B 31 in front of the Kapplertunnel and the Schützenalleetunnel in Freiburg is temporarily regulated with a traffic light. Since the tunnels no longer meet fire protection requirements, traffic jams in them must be prevented. That is why the sheet metal avalanche in front of the tunnel entrance should be stopped at peak times and passed through in blocks. This approach is now causing displeasure in the Dreisamtal. There are fears of traffic shifts that already exist in Freiburg.
