Traditional medicine could treat Covid-19 symptoms

Twenty-six different medications are missing at the clinic of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers -ISSSTE, the director of the institution acknowledged. María Inés Gelasio Almaguer.

The head of the local ISSSTE clinic commented that the workers’ protest is clear, due to the lack of medicines.

He acknowledged that the shortage is nationwide and that at least 26 drugs are missing in the Monclova unit, including insulins to treat diabetes and other drugs to control hypertension.

The doctor indicated that she makes a weekly request for the missing items to be filled, but this does not guarantee that they will be sent to her as she requests.

A little unwell and tense by the situation that arose last Tuesday, the director was reluctant to issue a statement.

“The demand that teachers are making is not exclusive to the local ISSSTE but at the state level and the President of the Republic, so I believe that the interview should be done with whoever is of higher hierarchy.”

As will be recalled, last Tuesday at noon, the teachers unionized to section 5 of the National Union of Education Workers -SNTE- placed canvases with messages of disagreement, after the prevailing shortage of medicines.

In addition to the lack of medicines, they also complain about the lack of sufficient medical personnel to provide timely and efficient care.
