NORTH HOLLAND – The FIOD (Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation Service) yesterday seized a large consignment of fake branded clothing in Amsterdam, Purmerend and Zwanenburg. It was not the first time that the suspects aged 22 and 35 had gone wrong. April last year have they already been arrested, even for trade is false designer clothes.

Three warehouses in Amsterdam, Purmerend and Zwanenburg were searched. FIOD has seized 7,500 items, including clothing, shoes and accessories from the brands Versace, Dsquared, Stone Island, Moncler and Louis Vuitton. These items will be destroyed soon.
Not the first time
At the beginning of August, the FIOD received a tip that the trade, for which the suspects had been arrested on April 24, 2019, was still in full swing. The suspects were not arrested in these raids.
Last year, storage boxes full of clothes and shoes were found, and 32,000 euros in cash was also found during the search of homes in Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Haarlem.
It is forbidden to copy and sell branded clothing in the Netherlands. The clothing has intellectual property rights to protect the brand. Trade is counterfeit designer clothing is a phenomenon with international dimensions, according to the FIOD.
