Traces of blood lead the gendarmes to the burglar

They had broken into doors and stolen items in these two businesses. The first was sentenced a few months ago to 12 months in prison and the second was tried this week.

At the beginning of the year, the owners of the two businesses, La Grignotine and the Beauté Canine salon, had the unpleasant surprise of discovering that two individuals had looted their respective shops to steal some meager loot, but above all to cause damage. It must be said that the thieves, well known to the gendarmerie, were not the most advanced in the matter, especially since the abuse of alcohol did not help things. One of them was tried a few weeks ago and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, 6 of which were suspended on probation, and the second, CG, appeared this week before the Tarbes criminal court. A heavy criminal record and a chaotic journey for this 38-year-old man who accumulates convictions, always against the backdrop of massive alcoholism.

That evening, the two accomplices therefore decided to go look for businesses in Lannemezan there to look for money, but the witnesses called the gendarmes, as the president of the court explained during the presentation of the facts: “They heard a noise and near the Beauté Canine hall, they saw two men come out of the exercise, one of them had a jar full of a product which he sprinkled on the front and set it on fire”. A disaster quickly brought under control and the gendarmes will notice traces of blood on the glass and on the ground which will lead them straight to the house of the suspects: “Following the traces, they arrive in an apartment where the two defendants are. And the gendarmes see you, you are injured in the calf, you immediately say that you are “wrong” and they give you first aid”. The man will prove to be positive for cocaine as well as being very alcoholic and will tell the story of the journey to find money, dressed all in black, gloves and a hood In the first exchange, they didn’t find an agent and took food, beer, a blender, basically everything they had on hand: “You’re injured and you say you asked him for water and he brought back a can of kerosene, but you left because you were hurt. Your accomplice joined you later and told you that he had tried to start the fire”. At the bar the man lowers his head, explains that he has left the city to start over in another region and explains his gesture due to the drugs and alcohol consumed: “I did everything in Lannemezan, I’m not proud of what I did.”

The prosecutor recalled the trauma for the victims that these break-ins are! “I ask for 8 months in prison with an 18-month suspended sentence and the obligation to compensate the victims”. Me Loréa Chipi, for the defendant’s defense, highlighted the fact that his client is “very ashamed of having committed these acts. Today he wants to live in peace and honestly. The court sentenced CG to 8 months in prison accompanied by a suspended for 2 years and compensated the victims, thus following the requests of the prosecutor.
