Perceived as the real remedy to alleviate medical deserts – Mayenne no exception – in the south of the department, nursing homes are flourishing. A third is due to see the light of day, this time in the city center in Chateau-Gontier (Mayenne).
The new director of the Haut-Anjou (South-Mayenne and North-Maine-et-Loire), Eric-Alban Giroux, suggests, early August 2021, that he is ready to put his stone to the building to reinforce the attractiveness of the territory.
“We must increase the number of doctors in the territory of Château-Gontier and Segré to ensure the inhabitants a future in terms of health. In the premises of the Saint-Joseph center for the elderly (Ehpad), I am ready to free up all the space necessary for the recruitment of general practitioners, specialists, nurses and physiotherapists. “
The first nursing home was created in 2019, at La Motte-Vauvert in Château-Gontier (Mayenne), in the old Mutant store.
A second health center on the east bank of the Mayenne in Azé (Mayenne) has been validated by the regional health agency (ARS Pays de la Loire).
Two implementation tracks for the one that must be located Azé (Mayenne) are being studied, near the senior residence Les Ombelles or the senior residence Le Patio.
