On Sunday, a Japanese tourist was rushed to a hospital in Macau in China, reports say The Standard.
The man, who was 56 years old, had thrown himself from the Macau Tower to complete the world’s highest bungee jump.
The Macau Tower in China is 338 meters high, while the bungee jump is 233 meters high.

Pronounced dead
After the jump, the 56-year-old became short of breath and lost consciousness.
When paramedics arrived at the scene around 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon, the man was pronounced dead.
According to local media, the person in question had no visible injuries on his body.

Warns against medical conditions
The bungee jump is operated by Skypark by AJ Hackett.
On its website, the company writes that those who wish to perform the bungee jump must be aware of medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, epilepsy, neurological conditions, asthma and physical disabilities.
Everyone who jumps must sign a disclaimer form, warning of the risks of the activity.

A spokesperson for AJ Hackett says this to the British tabloid newspaper Daily Mail:
– We at AJ Hackett Macau Tower Limited were saddened to hear the news that a tourist died as a result of a medical situation at the Macau Tower yesterday. It happened after bungee jumping was completed.
Five teenagers died in a horror accident
The spokesperson says that the company offers its condolences to the deceased’s family.
– Safety is our highest priority. Each and every customer is subject to strict security procedures. During yesterday’s incident, the tourist followed all safety requirements before jumping. When our employees were told that he felt unwell after landing, they immediately provided first aid and called the authorities for help. The company cooperates with relevant public agencies.
